Let’s face it, we all love pineapple. It’s sweet, it’s juicy and it tastes so good. Many of us use it in desserts, but pineapple is a wonderful addition to juices and smoothies. While it’s a very pulpy fruit, it is also a great ingredient when you want a sweet, smooth taste.
Pineapple is often associated with Hawaii, but it is actually from South America originally. Since the early 1800s, it has been grown in greenhouses across the world and is now an important export for many Central and South American countries. The flesh and fruit are the key parts, no one has really figured out what to do with that spiny outer rind. Here are three really delicious juice recipes using pineapple.
Pineapple Carrot Orange Juice Recipe
What a great combination of three sweet ingredients, plus a dash of ginger to give the juice a nice zing. Ginger can get hot, you will want to adjust the amount you use to your personal taste. However, there is a lot of sweet in the other three ingredients that offset any harsh taste. This is a popular recipe for people who are trying to lose weight.
2 oranges, peeled
1 carrot, peeled
1/2 pineapple (small)
1 teaspoon ginger, or 1 small piece of ginger grated
Cut everything into chunks, then toss into your juicer. Pineapple is dense, you need a good juicer to make this work.
Okay, this is a smoothie, not a juice drink. However, it becomes a smoothie only with the addition of the bananas. You can skip the bananas and have a real nice juice.
3/4 cup chopped pineapple
3/4 cup chopped carrots or carrot juice
2 bananas, cut into pieces
1 small pieces of ginger, peeled and grated
1 small lime, peeled and chopped
Add everything to your juicer or blender or mix well. You can add a teaspoon of cashews for a fun texture.
Grab your blender for this drink, you want to crush some ice with this recipe. This is really basic, just a few ingredients, some ice and your blender. It’s the perfect drink for a hot summer day. If you are trying to lose weight, use this juice as your dessert reward!
1 lime, peeled and chopped
1 cup carrots, peeled and chopped
2 cups pineapple
1-2 cups of ice
Toss everything into your blender and pulse on high. Serve with a wedge of pineapple as a garnish.
